Ticket Machine Shelters - Protect Your Pay & Display Equipment
UK manufactured ticket machine shelters for car parks, councils, and leisure centres. Galvanised steel frames, powder-coated in any RAL colour. Free site survey.
Keep Your Machines Running. Keep Your Customers Dry.
Pay and display machines take a hard beating from the British weather. Rain gets into coin slots. UV degrades casings. Moisture causes faults and callouts. A ticket machine shelter is the simplest way to protect your equipment investment and extend its working life.
It also does something the machine alone cannot: it gives the person paying a dry place to stand. That matters in a car park, at a train station, outside a leisure centre. Nobody wants to fumble for change in the rain.
We manufacture ticket machine shelters at our Lancashire workshop. Hot-dip galvanised steel frames, powder-coated in any RAL colour, with polycarbonate or steel sheet roofing. Single machine, dual machine, or multi-bay configurations. We survey the site, confirm the dimensions, and install with minimal disruption to your operation.

Why Councils and Operators Choose Alotek
Reduces Equipment Callouts
Exposed pay and display machines suffer water ingress, corrosion, and UV damage that leads to faults and emergency callouts. A shelter eliminates most weather-related failures, reducing the ongoing maintenance cost of your parking equipment over its lifetime.
Matches Existing Street Furniture
Councils with existing bus shelters, cycle shelters, or signage in a standard colour can have ticket machine shelters powder-coated to match exactly. We hold RAL colour records for returning customers and can match any existing specification without needing a sample.
UK Manufacturer โ No Import Delays
We manufacture at our Lancashire workshop. Lead times are predictable, communication is direct, and if something needs changing before delivery it gets changed. No dealing with overseas suppliers or third-party installers.
Planning Support Included
If your installation requires a planning application, we provide drawings and documentation as standard. We have experience supporting applications for shelter structures across local authority sites and can advise on the pre-application process for your specific site.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ticket machine shelters
What is a ticket machine shelter?
A ticket machine shelter is a steel-framed canopy structure that fits over a pay and display parking machine or pay station. It protects the machine from rain, UV degradation, and general weathering, while also providing cover for the person paying. Most shelters use a translucent polycarbonate roof to keep the area bright without needing additional lighting during daylight hours.
What sizes are available?
We manufacture shelters to suit any machine footprint. A standard single shelter typically starts at around 800 mm wide to cover one machine. Dual-machine shelters from 1,600 mm. We can also build multi-bay structures for sites with a bank of machines side by side. All dimensions are confirmed at the site survey stage.
Can the shelter be custom coloured?
Yes. All our shelters are powder-coated in any RAL colour at no extra cost. Councils often match their existing street furniture scheme. Retail and leisure operators typically specify corporate colours. The powder-coat finish is highly durable and UV-stable in outdoor conditions.
What roof material do you use?
The standard roof is translucent polycarbonate, which keeps the area well-lit naturally without needing artificial lighting during the day. We also offer galvanised steel profile sheet roofing for a more solid appearance, or opaque coloured polycarbonate. The choice depends on your preference and site requirements.
Can side panels be added for more weather protection?
Yes. We can add side and rear panels in clear toughened glass, polycarbonate, or steel infill. For sites with a vandalism risk, a roller shutter that locks down over the machine overnight is also available. The level of enclosure is determined by your site conditions and security requirements.
Do ticket machine shelters need planning permission?
It depends on the site and the size of the structure. Smaller shelters on operational land (such as an existing car park) may fall within permitted development. Structures over certain height or footprint thresholds, or on sites in conservation areas, typically require a planning application. We can advise based on your specific site and provide drawings to support a planning application if needed.
How is the shelter fixed to the ground?
The most common method is base plates bolted to an existing concrete slab using resin anchors. For new installations where a concrete pad is being laid, the posts can be cast in during the pour. We assess the ground conditions at the site survey and recommend the appropriate fixing method.
How long does installation take?
A single ticket machine shelter is typically installed in half a day to a full day depending on groundwork requirements. Multi-bay or more complex installations take longer. We work to minimise disruption and can schedule installation to avoid peak usage periods at your site.
